Founded in 1971, Sunshine Bicycle Center is a local, independent bike sales & repair shop nestled in Fairfax, the hub of Marin’s cycling community. We pride ourselves on our ability to serve every customer’s need, from the young child just learning to ride a bike, to the elite racer who needs an experienced mechanic to make sure his ride is race ready. You can be assured that whatever your cycling need, we can take care of it.

Martin Hansen, Sunshine’s owner and staff wrench for 30 years, handles your needs along with our dedicated and well rounded team of cycling experts.

Over 80 Years Combined Staff Experience

Our greatest asset is our staff, many of whom have been with Sunshine for at least 10 years.  Among Martin (owner), Tony, Erik, Daniel, Nathan, Ryan, Gordon, Lyle, Red, Matt, Skyler, Alec, Emile, Patrick and Luke, we have over 80 combined years of experience working on a wide variety of bikes, and among us a CNC machinist, a Masters of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering, and a Doctor of Chiropractic.

We have an incredibly wide selection of popular and cutting edge bikes, parts, accessories and clothing, plus an extremely deep stock of common and hard to find repair parts, tools and solutions in our well equipped, expertly staffed, well established shop.  We’ve seen and fixed it all, from the very highest end road bikes all the way to the greatest bikes for your kid.

Fit Experts

For those experienced cyclists who are seeking to improve the bike or their fit, come talk to us about the latest high tech gizmos and gadgets being using by the pros. We are an authorized professional Bikefitting.com service center, so we can get you properly sized for any type of riding. We frequently work with Whole Athlete when more detailed fitting and coaching services are needed.

Location, Location Location!

We are conveniently located in Fairfax, a great place to start any type of ride – road or mountain. In addition to great roads and trails, Fairfax also offers some of the best coffee and beer to be had in Marin – just give the Java Hut (across the street) or Iron Springs Brewery a try before or after your ride and we guarantee you won’t be disappointed.

Legal singletrack has been hard to come by in Marin, but luckily we are only minutes away from the Marin Boy Scout’s Camp Tamarancho, the home of about 15 miles of guilt free, legal singletrack. The trails are rider maintained, and 1-day use passes are available at our shop for just $5.
