What's New At Sunshine?
$5,499.00
SBC ID | MFG SKU - 210000065987 |And with new 2020/21 suspension and build options announced, there are new ways to adorn and enjoy the Ripmo V2.
With 29" wheels and tire clearance up to 2.6", Ripmo Carbon 2 added a couple mils from the original Ripmo to 147mm rear travel while staying with 160mm up front. Head angle got a little slacker and the bike got a little longer, adding a few millimeters of reach.
The Ripmo borrowed some geo from it's newer aluminum sibling Ripmo AF: the same steep, 76-degree seat tube angle and a rangy but not stratospheric reach, which places riders centrally over the pedals. It makes for an efficient position that can go the long haul. The slack 64.9° headtube angle and 44mm reduced-offset fork doesn’t wander while climbing, and doesn’t hold you back descending. It works — all day up, all day down, all day in between.
A touch more progressive end rate was added to eliminate bottom out for you hard chargers. Also added were standard equipment guards to help protect the linkages from contamination.
Small bump performance was improved even more, eliminating trail chatter. Ibis custom tuned front and rear suspension feature extra light high speed compression and rebound damping to deliver unparalleled traction. This allows the wheels to flutter through terrain like a trophy truck storming through a set of whoops. Learn more about Ibis Traction Tune >.
And Ripmo's svelte feel on climbs is still there. This is a bike that is prepared for sucking up big hits going down yet is nimble and surprisingly light feeling on the climbs, partially thanks to an amazingly light frame weight of just 6.3lbs (w/lightest shock option).
Available through Sunshine Bicycle Center in Fairfax in 5 new builds for 20/21 starting at $4,399, and in 2 colors: Zap Blue and Star Destroyer Gray.
Ibis has announced new kit and suspension options for the Ripmo Carbon 2 going forward:
Ripmo Carbon 2 is now available in 5 build kits:
There is also of course a frame-only option from $2999 for those wishing to fully customize their ride.
Now shipping as the base suspension kit is the DVO Onyx D1 Fork and DVO Topaz T3Air shock out back. Or, new and by popular demand, opt for the DVO Jade X Coil out back (small upgrade cost).
The Onyx is DVO's top tier Enduro race fork. With adjustable high/low speed compression, rebound, adjustable OTT, and 36mm stanchions, it's an incredible performer.
DVO's Topaz T3Air is a phenomenal rear shock for XC, Trail and Enduro. And for those taking bigger jumps and hits there is the aforementioned option to run the DVO Jade X Coil spring shock (upgrade fee). This has adjustable rebound and compression settings, and has proven very popular with riders of Ripmo Carbon 2's aluminum sibling, Ripmo AF.
All DVO products receive a custom Ibis Traction Tune.
Ripmo Carbon (and AF) customers also have the option to upgrade to the all-new Fox Factory 36 fork with GRIP2 damper. It features every conceivable adjustment, bleed valves and a new axle system.
Out back, Ibis is also shipping the all-new Fox Float X2. This is the same shock used by our Enduro World Series team.
As always, customers have the option to mix and match upgrades. How good would a Factory 36 + Jade X look?
Backed by the Ibis 7-year frame warranty plus included lifetime bushing replacement warranty, Ripmo 2 Carbon is ready for a lot of adventures!
