Enduro World Series tested and team-approved, the new redesigned and updated Ibis Mojo HD5 features updated geometry and different approach to suspension tuning.
HD5 continues as a 27.5” brawler, striving harder to meet the task of riding hard both up and down trails, with 153mm of dw-link controlled travel and a 170mm fork. 76 degrees of climbing, meet 64.2 degrees of descending.
New from the ground up, the HD5 has a slacker 64.2 degree head tube angle, ~20mm longer reach, 2 degree steeper seat tube angle, and clearance for a long dropper.
New internally molded tubes in tubes make for easy cable feed in, pop out simplicity. Also new is upper and lower linkage protection and a Ripmo style lower link for reduced maintenance.
Perhaps the newest feature of all is a newer suspension tuning philosophy Ibis is applying derived from insight, intuition and experimentation from years of custom tuning bikes for riders and racers of all sizes and weights.
They are calling it "Traction Tuned Suspension" and it features extra light high speed compression and rebound damping, delivering what they call "unparalleled traction", allowing the wheels to flutter through terrain more smoothly (or as Ibis says, "like a trophy truck storming through a set of whoops", haha).
This video with Ibis designer and engineer Andy Jacque-Maynes really explains it well.
