Genre defining, economical and technologically advanced, Ripley Carbon 4 has defined the overall trajectory of Ibis over the past 10 years. Evolving on its own while borrowing from and collaborating with its Ibis siblings. 

The 4th iteration of Ripley is more than just an iteration. Redesigned from the ground up to blend the DNA of the legendary Ripleys before it with the best attributes of Ibis's other iconic bikes.

Ibis took the concept of the Ripley - a fast, snappy shorter-travel 29er - lightened it even more, and infused the geometry with aspects of their longer travel 29er Ripmo.

    While the previous generation of Ripley added "LS", or Long Slack, geometry, Ripley 4 takes things one step further.

    After spending a day riding the new Ripley in the Santa Cruz Mountains I was quick to notice just how agile and light the new Ripley felt compared to my Ripmo. Zipping up tight switchbacks the Ripley felt nimble and quick.

    Ibis bicycles and the DW Link suspension are known for their efficient pedaling and this new Ripley wanted you to know it too. On my first descent I boosted the bike off a small jump and immediately was reminded of how agile the bike felt.

    While the Ripmo wants to plow its way down the trail, the Ripley is slightly more elegant in its downhill prowess but not by much. I found myself constantly riding the new Ripley at speeds normally reserved for bikes with much more travel but while still having a blast and staying in control.

    Whether you are doing your weekend Tamarancho loop or an all day expedition in the headlands this new Generation 4 Ripley is the ideal bike for our beautiful trails we call home here in Marin County.
