The love child of a Ripley and a Mojo HD4, the all-new Ibis Ripmo is a big wheeled slasher that’s always down for another lap, whether that means a big climb or a tailgate pad.
In this sub-six-pound framed 29er with 145mm of efficient dw-link rear wheel travel (160mm front), Ibis has created an incredibly versatile bike.
In pre-release test rides at Ibis HQ on 3/20/18, Sunshine Bikes owner Martin Hansen was "really surprised to find Ripmo feeling like a pedal friendly medium travel bike yet having long-travel beefy suspension and confidence to roll over some pretty big drops and greasy roots with ease - especially for someone that hasn't been on my mountain bike as much as I would like in the last 4 months! Also surprised and pleased Ripmo's in the same weight class as many medium travel bikes - very high marks for that, well done Ibis!"
It also marks a dramatic shift in geometry from other Ibis MTBs. The reach is nearly an inch longer than the Enduro World Series Team winning HD4, with clearance for a 170mm dropper, and a pedal-friendly 76° seat tube angle. The end result seems to be a bike that’s ready to rally while still maintaining lively handling.
Besides the stats and numbers you'll also find a new lighter and torsionally stiffer set of lower suspension links that revolve around a new generation of Igus bushings backed by a lifetime replacement warranty in addition to the Ibis 7 year frame warranty - quite solid backing.
