Marin’s first-ever five-stage race, The Marinduro, was held Saturday, April 1st. The 12-mile race, which began and ended in downtown Fairfax, wound its way through the hills of Camp Tamarancho and boasted many challenging stages including a 1,750' altitude gain. The map of the race wasn’t divulged until riders arrived for the start, adding a bit of mystery to the expectations of the course.
Sunshine Bicycle Center mechanic Justin Eagleton was on hand to provide riders with quick fixes and gave special safety attention for their bikes, plus Sunshine donated a GX AXS Upgrade Kit, which retails for $633, for the race raffle.
Marinduro is a benefit for Access4Bikes Foundation and will help offset the costs of providing and maintaining the well-used trails at Camp Tamarancho. The race was a huge success in both attendance and support for the community.
